Manager/Senior Manager/Principal, Consulting - Melbourne

About the Roles:

Due to continued growth and greater demand for delivery capability we are expanding our team and opening in Melbourne so looking for key senior consulting positions from Manager level up to Principal for our new office. We have already secured a Director.

The Manager role provides an exciting opportunity for an energetic, ambitious self-starter with 2 to 4 years’ experience at a large consulting firm or equivalent industry experience. Managers lead engagements/projects and work with Blackdot’s top tier clients across the analysis, design and implementation stages of a variety of Marketing and Sales consulting and capability engagements.

The Senior Manager role is targeted at individuals who possess 5 years+ relevant commercial experience with some prior experience within a management consultancy firm ideally as a senior consultant and who are keen to utilise these strong skills and experience within an entrepreneurial and agile company. The Senior Manager is at the centre of the customer engagement team and provides it with leadership.

Principal is targeted at individuals who possess excellent consulting credentials (at least 8 years+ relevant commercial consulting experience as Engagement Manager/Principal Consultant ideally within sales and marketing transformation) and client-facing skills who can demonstrate initiative and play a key leadership role within the consulting team. Strategic management perspective, strong interpersonal and communication skills.

About You:

The ideal candidate will have experience in delivering Marketing, Sales and Service solutions across
different industries. Most important for success in this role is someone with a flexible, creative and
can-do approach to work and who can work effectively in a small team environment and manage
multiple projects at the one time. The most exciting aspect is that you will be a key senior member
of a new office which is actively building and morphing in a fast growing, dynamic management

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Plan and organise project activity and manage project profitability
  • Deliver and facilitate client workshops, checkpoints and project meetings
  • Develop materials for projects and client workshops
  • Apply structured thinking to documentation of issues, ideas and recommendations
  • Manage key internal and external stakeholder relationships
  • Provide expertise in relation to key findings, trends, developments and insights in the field of management consulting
  • Develop intellectual property / Blackdot’s consulting tool kit
  • As Senior Manager you are responsible for managing day-to-day project operations, serving as the functional expert, main client contact and keeping the whole project team fully updated on all feedback coming from the client and ensuring that they adhere to client expectations
  • As Principal you will lead the day-to-day operations of project teams, identify, develop and
    extend client relationships and become a trusted adviser over multiple engagements. Lead
    the creation and extension of industry specific and functional thought leadership. As part of
    the leadership team for the consulting practice, act as a coach and mentor to junior
    consultants and lead the delivery of internal firm-building projects

Skills and Experience:
  • Sound project expertise in the design and delivery of business consulting solutions across areas of Marketing, Sales and Service in one or more of these areas: Strategy Development, Sales Operating Models, Sales Force Effectiveness, Customer Experience Transformation, Channel and Profitability Optimisation, Customer Segmentation, Marketing Transformation Service Management Optimisation and/or consulting domain experience in Banking & Finance, Health Science (Pharma) or TMT
  • Ability to learn complex businesses very quickly, define problems accurately while paying attention to detail in the solution
  • Demonstrated leadership within or outside a work setting. You should be someone who frequently takes initiative and is eager to break new ground
  • Ability to manage and multi-task under tight deadlines
  • Strategic management perspective, strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to understand sophisticated databased analysis
